How to join #nickzone at squidge.org

The NickZone chat room is open for use at any time you care to use it

Big thank you to Walter at Squidge.Org for letting us use the server on such short notice!

Big thank you to Lopsided Weevil for letting me use his basic instructions!

If you don't have an Internet Chat Relay protocol, you can now access the chat through the web, by using either Internet Explorer or Netscape, as long as your computer has Javascript capabilities. Go to:

  1. Squidge.Org Chat Facility
  2. Enter #NickZone when you are there.

Okay, first things first. You will need Internet Relay Chat (IRC) software to participate. There are several programs out there -

Windows - mIRC, Pirch

Macintosh - IRCle, ShadowIRC

These are shareware programs that can be found at Download.com or at their homepages. Once you've downloaded and installed these programs you're ready to connect.

If you've know what you're doing, here's the short instructions for joining #nickzone.

  1. Start your IRC program and open 'setup' or 'preferences'
  2. Select the Squidge.org server (squidge.org)
  3. Choose your username
  4. Close and save your preferences
  5. Connect to the server
  6. Join the chatroom by typing in the command /join #nickzone
